Yes Avid Partners have two divisions of the company. Im having trouble raising finance for my company. It is growing fast but banks dont seem to be interested?
It is a common problem for companies who are in a situation where their business is growing in real terms (users, visitors) but sales is not matching the other growth metrics as traditionally sales lags behind growth (Twitter, Linked In, etc). So what do you do? Every business needs access to finance to pay operating costs which gives the company time to develop future revenue streams. Thankfully the situation is getting better with many tech friendly finance options coming on stream such as micro financing, crowd funding and government agencies are also starting to show support interests.
We are a small start up company with limited resources. Can you help us grow?
Every company starts out small with very limited resources at the beginning of the project. Do you think there are opportunities for export that our business may be missing?
The majority of the food production from Ireland is now exported so there are many opportunities to look further afield than the home market and see where you can get the most from your produce. There are also support systems for exporting companies if it is of sufficient scale and Enterprise Ireland have stepped up their support of indigenous exports in recent times.
Our business is considering expanding into some niche food production areas. Do you think there is a market for us?
The answer is it depends on what specifically you are considering. If you are planning on supplying the raw materials to the food production companies then this is a fairly common means of revenue generation for your production. If you are considering retailing to customers directly then this is a very different business model with a lot more factor to consider (distribution, end user production, marketing, wholesale or retail, demand, price sensitivity, etc).
Im not sure what subsidies or supports im entitled to as a small farmer. Can you give some advise?
