Calling all retailers!

20/08/20: The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation announced today an additional fund of €5.5m for the COVID19 Online Retail Scheme.

The scheme is open to all Irish owned retailers open to trading online to expand their business and who want to internationalise their offering.

For successful applicants, 80% of project costs are covered up to a maximum grant of €40,000. The fund to be administered by Enterprise Ireland. Find out more here.

Furthermore, there was an extension of €20 m to the Trade Online Voucher Scheme will be administered by Local Enterprise Office. Find out more here

Both schemes were included in the July Stimulus package to support businesses impacted by Covid-19.

New.ie registrations surge by 56%

New .ie registrations in Ireland increased by 56% year-on-year in Q2 2020 as businesses moved online in response to the Covid-19 pandemic to serve and stay in contact with customers.

According to figures published by IE Domain Registry on 30 July 2020, a total of 33,286 new .ie domains were registered in the first half (H1) of 2020 , an increase of 26% compared to the same period last year.

Over 40% of new registrations in Ireland occurred in the two months of May and June, as businesses reacted to the consequences of Covid-19 and related restrictions.
